Chief digital officer & group CIO Deepak Batheja will discuss new ways to support connected home consumers

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-(BUSINESS WIRE)- iQor, a global managed services provider embedded in the flow between product, people and services, today announced Deepak Batheja, chief digital officer & group CIO, iQor, will participate as a speaker at Parks Associates’ 22nd-annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, held May 22-24 at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco. Deepak Batheja is responsible for leading iQor’s advancement in digital strategy, technology innovation, and for R&D in the company’s technology services and solutions.

CONNECTIONS™ includes more than 650 executives and focuses on ways to engage consumers and grow revenues in the converging IoT industries, including smart home, connected health, and mobile and entertainment ecosystems.

Batheja will participate in the session, Adding Value to the Home: Support Needs for the Connected Consumer on Wednesday, May 23 at 10:15 a.m. The interactive panel session, moderated by Patrice Samuels, sr. research analyst, Parks Associates, examines changes in the support needs of consumers, the shift from hardware to a software focus, and new approaches to solving problems for connected consumers.

According to iQor’s CPX 360 Survey, on average, consumers report spending 2.5 hours between self-help and customer support, and speak with 3 different people to resolve an issue; 22 percent give up and return the product for a refund.

“Smart home devices have the opportunity to provide a new level of convenience and accessibility to consumers that the industry hasn’t yet fully tapped,” says Batheja. “We must begin acting on solutions that integrate the consumer support journey and take advantage of all that IoT has to offer to provide real value to the customer.”

The CONNECTIONS conference also features keynotes by executives from Comcast, Google, Intel, Samsung, and T-Mobile, as well as new research from Parks Associates. Sessions will provide insight into critical issues including consumer privacy, interoperability, partnerships, platform integration, big data, personalization, and new distribution models.

“Compelling user experiences are driving smart home products to the mainstream, and the experience after purchase is essential to keep consumers buying,” said Tom Kerber, director of IoT strategy, Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONS measures the smart home user experience and what capabilities are essential from their smart home solutions.”
